When did we forget we are a part of nature?
Tree trunks touching rivers edge.
Lapping bubbles caressing her water soaked roots, reaching under boulders,
holding this river strong.
Even when off course
Mother river guides water
through and onward.
Sitting atop this moss rich boulder,
wondering what journeys he has been on…
What wonders he has witnessed in these
long and ever changing seasons of life.
Moth blends in to tree bark,
almost unseen.
Exoskeletons of insects attached to the side of
this birch tree, a new adventure ahead…
Take your shoes off…
Feel the earth on your feet.
Slow,
take it slow.
No need to rush,
like the world outside of you.
Don’t let the distractions trick you
from what really matters in this moment.
Smell the trees, their sweet, peppery perfume.
Feel the wind move across your cheek like soft petals painting a canvas.
Spider joins me on my arm before taking a new route.
Leaves kiss my chin as I explore Mothers body with my feet.
A patch of sun warms my ear.
Dragonfly has taken his last flight,
his wing recycles itself back into the Earth.
This river is raging, yet all is silent within my temple.
Thank you.
csh.
